We had our first Tiger Pride Assembly on Friday and I just wanted to give a quick shout out to the whole class and a couple of individual students.
Great job to the whole class for winning the most Tiger Tokens in 4th grade! What a great achievement.
Terrific Tiger Award Winners: Hudson Reasoner and Chloe Fetters
Academic Perseverance Award Winners: Kenadie Limb and Tucker Nothum
Drop in a Bucket Award Winners: Anastasia Jones, Keithan Murray, Aaron Keller, and Kenadie Johnson
Perfect Attendance Award Winners: Keithan Murray, Hayden Crawford-Daily, Jordynn Anthony, and Kenadie Johnson
What we will be working on this week...
Reading: Story elements (setting, plot, characters, problem, solution)
Writing: Realistic Fiction stories
Math: Using strategies and properties to multiply by 1-digit numbers
I told the students that math is going to be getting harder and harder each week. We are starting some tough multiplication lessons and if they students do not know their facts, its going to be difficult to grasp the concepts they need for 4th grade. 3rd grade was a big year for multiplication and we just don't have as much time to go back and reteach those facts. As we go, I will catch the students that are needing some extra help and will send fluency sheets home with them to practice. I will also print off some flashcards to help your child practice at home.
Science: Finishing up ecosystems (test on Tuesday)
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at Open House on Thursday, October 6th. It starts at 5:30 and lasts until 7:00. You will be able to sign up for parent/teacher conferences, see what your child has been working on in the classroom, and check out the book fair!
