I hope everyone has enjoyed their Labor Day weekend and the kids were able to recharge a little! They worked so hard in August and I am excited to see what this month is going to bring us.
I want to give a little shoutout to our Leaders of the Week in August. These students have had the highest Dojo points at the end of each week.
Leaders of the Week in August:
There are a lot of fun and exciting things going on this week!
INSIDE THE CLASSROOM THIS WEEK:
Reading: We will be finishing up our Daily 5 routine and I will start pulling students for reading groups. I will also be pulling a few kids and start DRA testing this week.
Writing: Last week the students chose Big Topics to write about in their personal narratives. This week, students will start working their personal narratives and going through the writing process.
Math: Your child's first math test over place value and rounding will be going home on Tuesday. Please look over it and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask! This week we are starting a new topic over adding and subtracting multi-digit whole numbers.
Science: We are still learning about ecosystems and will be starting fun experiments soon!
Now that I have the hang of MasteryConnect, more and more assignments and grades will be going in there. Principal Miller sent out an email last week about logging into MasteryConnect and I will be sending one out today. That will be a great way for you to see your child's success in the classroom and be up to date on all of their assignments!
